The Counselor is responsible for facilitating group programming and individual counseling sessions, as well as conducting comprehensive assessments and treatment plans. They will also participate in multi-disciplinary treatment planning and work closely with the Virginia Department of Corrections personnel.
A Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services field is required, along with state certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor or a similar certification recognized by the Virginia Board of Professional Counselors within two years. Candidates with relevant certifications may qualify for a higher pay rate.
