The Surgical Technician is responsible for rendering direct patient care and following proper protocols during surgical procedures. Key tasks include maintaining instrument counts, sterilizing instruments, and ensuring patient safety.
Under the general supervision of the nurse manager or designee, the Surgical Technician, renders direct patient care according to the age and developmental level of the patient in accordance with the Code of Ethics for Nurses, ANA Standards of Care and the mission, philosophy, policies and procedures of Mohawk Valley Health System.
Preferred: Completion of an approved Surgical Technician training program
