The Occupational Therapist in the acute care hospital setting is responsible for evaluating ADL performance and functional mobility, delivering rehabilitation services under a care plan, and ensuring timely documentation of services. The role involves consulting with medical teams and collaborating with patients and their support systems to maximize safety and independence.
Candidates must possess a valid and unencumbered Occupational Therapy license for the state(s) of practice and hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher from an ACOTE-accredited curriculum. Required qualifications also include current NBCOT registration, current CPR Certification, and a minimum of one year of clinical experience specifically within an acute care setting.

The Occupational Therapist (OT) in the acute care hospital setting is responsible for the evaluation and assessment of ADL performance and functional mobility, effective and efficient delivery of rehabilitation services under an established plan of care, and timely documentation of services. The OT consults with other members of their patients’ medical teams and collaborates with the patient and/or their support system to promote the highest level of safety and independence.
