The Medical Assistant will perform clinical and administrative duties, including assisting physicians with patient care, taking histories, recording vital signs, preparing patients for procedures, and collecting/processing laboratory specimens. Administrative tasks involve managing patient records, scheduling appointments, handling correspondence, and assisting with billing and bookkeeping.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and required certification from AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA, or ARMA, along with current BLS certification. Graduation from a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited Medical Assistant program and one year of prior clinic experience are strongly preferred.
Answer telephones Greet patients Update and file patient medical records Fill out insurance forms Handle correspondence Schedule appointments Arrange for hospital admissions Arrange for laboratory services Handle billing and bookkeeping.
Perform other clinical functions as delegated and supervised by the physician.
