As a full time, nonexempt Pharmacy Technician, you will assist in various pharmacy activities under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

Your responsibilities will include preparing, delivering, and restocking medications; performing order entry; procuring drugs; billing.

You will carry out your job duties according to written procedures and guidelines based on pharmacy standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Schedule: This full-time, nonexempt position will work up to 40 hours/week in a variety of day/evening/night shifts in this 24/7 centralized pharmacy.

  • Responsibilities: Prepare and dispense medications by measuring, counting, labeling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist Process prescription orders accurately, including entering patient and prescription data into pharmacy systems Assist pharmacists and healthcare providers by gathering necessary information and supporting workflow efficiency Prepare and compound medications (including IV admixtures and sterile products) following hospital protocols and USP standards Process medication orders from electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) with accuracy and urgency Deliver medications to patient care areas, including automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs) and nursing units Maintain medication inventory by restocking, tracking controlled substances, and monitoring expiration dates Support medication safety initiatives, including double-checks, labeling, and documentation Collaborate with pharmacists, nurses, and clinical staff to ensure timely and safe medication delivery Comply with hospital policies and regulatory standards, including Joint Commission and local, state, and federal regulations You’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent Current California Pharmacy Technician license in good standing Recent work experience as a Pharmacy Technician in an acute care hospital setting

  • Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc.

Requirements
