The Speech-Language Pathologist assesses and treats speech, language, social communication, cognitive communication, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders in patients per physician referral. This role involves evaluating referred patients, establishing patient and family-centered goals, and developing and executing treatment plans to maximize independence in the discharge setting.
Candidates must possess a Master’s Degree, ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), and Michigan Licensure in Speech Pathology. Required experience includes treating adult/children neurological speech and language disorders such as aphasia, dysphagia, and voice disorders, along with experience in head and neck cancer and modified barium swallow studies.
