The Patient Care Tech assists patients with healthcare needs, activities of daily living, and provides bedside care, including basic nursing procedures, all under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include obtaining and documenting vital signs, assisting with personal care, performing phlebotomy, and ensuring patient safety measures are in place.
A high school diploma is required, along with hands-on patient care experience or current enrollment as a second-semester RN student. A certification such as BLS, CNA, EMT, or CMA is required within one year of hire, with acute care experience being preferred.

The Patient Care Tech assists patients with healthcare needs, activities of daily living and provides bedside care, including basic nursing procedures, all under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). In this role, the Patient Care Technician may also function as a phlebotomist by performing blood collection by venipuncture or dermal puncture, as appropriate.
