The role involves performing quality ultrasound procedures on patients ranging from infants to geriatrics, utilizing proper positioning and technical factors to accurately differentiate between normal and pathological findings. Responsibilities also include educating patients, practicing safety standards, assessing preparation protocols, and operating 2D, M-mode, and Doppler ultrasound units.
Candidates must be registered with ARDMS (RDMS, RDCS, RVT, or RMSKS) or be board-eligible and achieve registration within one year of hire. Required certifications include Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training within six months and Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
Education and Licensure Must be registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) with one of the following. Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) Registered Musculoskeletal Sonographer (RMSKS) If not registered, be board-eligible and become registered with ARDMS within one year of hire. Maintains active registry status with ARDMS (30 CME’s every 3 yrs/annual payment) Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training is required within six (6) months of hire and every three (3) years thereafter. Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire and every two (2) years thereafter.
