Pharmacists support the vision of optimizing patient outcomes through integrated delivery of quality pharmaceutical care by providing consultation to healthcare providers, educating patients, and reviewing and processing medication orders. Key activities include participating in interdisciplinary care teams, advising on efficacious treatments, participating in collaborative practice protocols, and ensuring accurate preparation and timely delivery of medications.
Candidates must be graduates of an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy, and while a Pharmacy Practice Residency or equivalent hospital experience is preferred, a license to practice Pharmacy in Virginia is required within 90 days of hire. Essential qualifications include strong leadership, communication, teamwork skills, excellent critical thinking, and the ability to work efficiently with minimum supervision.
Must possess good leadership, communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills. Must be able to effectively budget time, work efficiently and accurately, and follow procedures with minimum supervision. Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills. Work requires knowledge of general office equipment and procedures including computer and keyboarding skills.
