The Physical Therapy Technician supports Physical Therapists and Assistants by preparing treatment areas, assisting with patient exercises and activities, and ensuring patient safety during therapy sessions. This role is also responsible for maintaining an organized and efficient clinic environment through administrative and facility support tasks.
Candidates should ideally possess an Associate or Bachelor's degree with coursework in healthcare or exercise science, though previous rehabilitation or healthcare experience is preferred but not mandatory. Basic knowledge of anatomy, exercise, and medical terminology is considered a plus.
The Physical Therapy Technician supports Physical Therapists (PTs) and Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) in delivering high-quality patient care. This role is essential for maintaining an organized, efficient clinic environment, assisting with treatment preparation, and ensuring patients have a safe, comfortable experience. Key Responsibilities: Patient Support: Greet patients, escort them to treatment areas, and prepare them for therapy sessions Assist patients with exercises and activities as instructed by PTs or PTAs. Encourage and ensure patient safety during treatment. Clinical Assistance:
Associate or bachelor’s degree with coursework in healthcare or exercise science preferred. Previous experience in a rehabilitation, fitness, or healthcare setting preferred but not required. Basic knowledge of anatomy, exercise, and medical terminology is a plus Skills & Abilities: Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to follow detailed instructions from PTs and PTAs. Physical stamina to assist patients and perform repetitive movements. Organizational skills and attention to detail. Work Environment: Outpatient orthopedic clinic May require standing, lifting, bending, and assisting with patient transfers. Reports to: Physical Therapist and/or Physical Therapist Assistant
