Applicants must hold a Master's Degree as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant, with a strong preference for a minimum of two years of relevant pediatric or specialized acute care experience. Required licensure includes current Texas professional licenses and Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
Summary: We are seeking an advanced practice provider with a specific interest in Endocrinology to join our team. Previous experience with endocrine and diabetes management is highly preferred. Functions in collaborative practice with physician(s) in private office setting for medically complex patients. Autonomously performs patient assessment, diagnosis, and intervention according to approved protocols. Supports physician to develop and maintain patients. Collaborates with specialties and maintains continuity of care. Prescribes a variety of modalities to meet wellness and illness needs, up to and including hospital admission/discharge and prescriptive authority. Supervises private office clinical personnel as needed. Participates in outpatient overnight and weekend call rotation.
Education/Experience: Advanced Practice Registered Nurses
Master’s Degree in Nursing as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.
Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience or related specialized area strongly preferred. Physician Assistants
Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies strongly preferred
Minimum of two years Pediatric primary/specialty or acute care setting experience OR 2 years' experience in related allied health field (i.e. family practice setting with heavy component of pediatric patients) strongly preferred.
Certification/Licensure: Advanced Practice Registered Nurses
Current Texas professional registered nurse license
Current Texas professional advance practice registered nurse license
Recognition from the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners as an Advanced Practice Nurse
Certification as Pediatric or Family Practice Nurse Practitioner
Current Basic Life Support (CPR) required
Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
Physician Assistants
Current Texas professional physician assistant license
Recognition from the Texas State Medical Board as a Physician Assistant.
Certification as a Physician Assistant PA-C required.
Current Basic Life Support (CPR) required
Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
