This role involves providing personal care and comprehensive community living support services to individuals in a licensed residential setting, aiming to maximize resident independence and community inclusion. Essential duties include assisting clinical staff with therapeutic activities, safely transporting residents, observing and documenting resident behaviors, and administering medications as trained.
Candidates should ideally have experience working with individuals with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities or in a caregiving role, although these are preferred, not strictly required. A valid driver's license is preferred, and certification as a Nursing Assistant is preferred for eligibility for a higher pay scale.
Description Northpointe is a Community Mental Health (CMH) organization providing services to individuals with serious mental illness, emotional disturbance, substance abuse disorders, and intellectual/developmental disabilities across Iron, Dickinson, and Menominee counties in the UP of Michigan. Northpointe itself was established in 1995 but has roots as a CMH dating back to 1964. Our presence can be found through remote emergency services, in school and home-based programs, and in clinical and residential home settings.
Job Purpose We are looking for a passionate, driven individual to join our team as a Residential Support Specialist at Belgium Pointe Home in Norway, Michigan. This role provides support to individuals who live in the licensed residential setting by providing personal care and comprehensive community living support services. The goal of this position is to ensure residents achieve maximum independence, an opportunity to achieve goals, and experience community inclusion.
