The LPN will practice practical nursing under the direction of a registered nurse or physician, participating in the nursing process for patients of all ages. Responsibilities include collecting data, implementing care plans, administering medications, and advocating for patients.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited school of practical nursing and licensed to practice in Virginia. Additional training in de-escalation is required within four months of hire.
Experience and licensure/certification requirements may vary by department. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development, possesses the ability to collect data reflective of the patient’s status, interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his or her age and specific needs, and provides the care needed as described in departmental policies and procedures.
