The Surgical Technologist II participates in the delivery of individualized peri-operative care and collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure quality patient care. Responsibilities include maintaining a sterile field, passing instruments, and participating in surgical counts.
Candidates must be high school graduates or equivalent and have completed an accredited surgical technologist training program with current certification. Knowledge of instrumentation and the ability to provide age-appropriate care are also required.
Knowledge of instrumentations. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development through the life span, interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his or her age and specific needs, and provide the care needed as described in departmental policies and procedures.
