The Electrophysiology Lab offers state-of-the-art procedures such as Cardiac Ablations, Pacemakers, and Defibrillator Implantations. It is located in the newly built Crystal Springs Tower. The Crystal Springs Tower is a 400,000-square-foot expansion to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital and is the home of our Cardiovascular Institute and an expanded Emergency Department.

Candidates must be a graduate of an Allied Health Profession School and hold a current certification such as RCIS, RCES, RT(R), RRT, or CRT. Experience in Cardiac Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology, or Electrophysiology is preferred, along with BLS-HCP certification.
· Ablations: Atrial fibrillation and Ventricular Fibrillation ablation, PF ablation, and RF ablation
Arrhythmias, Atrial fibrillation, Atrial Flutter, Supraventricular Tachycardia, Ventricular Tachycardia, and Ventricular Fibrillation

Prepares patient and technically advanced equipment for advanced invasive procedures.
Scrubs and assists physician during procedures.
Advises and plans with physicians on procedural strategies and supplies.
Assists in emergent conditions.
Assures patient, physician, and team needs are met during procedure.
Serves as patient advocate, advising on medication for patient needs.
Obtains and sets up procedural supplies and equipment.
Operates x-ray equipment and administers medication under the supervision and guidance of a licensed physician.
Uses advanced critical thinking skills to manage emergency situations.
Monitors and interprets EKG and hemodynamics during procedures.
Inputs data from patient history, labs, and current case proceedings including equipment/supplies and documentation for various databases, moderate sedation, pain management, and medication administration.
Performs advanced data manipulation to obtain value areas, shunt calculation, and cardiac outputs in the Cardiac Catherization Laboratory.
Performs advanced data manipulation to assist with electrophysiology studies and ablations.
Participates as part of procedure team to provide specific patient care functions such as transport, sheath removal, closure site care, etc.
Participates in providing and assuring informed consent and patient education.
Contributes to Carilion Clinic's scorecard, performance improvement activities, and mission.
Actively participates in obtaining desired service line outcome.
What We Require: Education: Graduate of Allied Health Profession School (RTR, RT) Experience: Cardiac Cath Lab or Interventional Radiology or Electrophysiology experience preferred.
Licensure/Certifications/Registration: Current Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist, RCIS or Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist, RCES or Radiologic Technologist, Registered, RT(R), or Registered Respiratory Therapist, RRT or Certified Respiratory Therapist, CRT.
Life Support: AHS BLS-HCP required.
Required to obtain/maintain AHABLS based on specific work unit.
Must successfully complete AHA ACLS within six months of hire date and maintain current status.
Other
Effective interpersonal, communication, and teamworking skills required. Must successfully complete orientation and competency validation for position. Compensation Range: $30.47 - $45.71 Employee pay is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.
