Responsible for the decontamination, cleaning, packing, and sterilization of medical equipment and instruments. Ensures all supplies are assembled and stored according to prescribed procedures and techniques.
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and the ability to obtain CSPDT certification within two years. Prior experience in Sterile Processing or Surgery is preferred but not essential.
St. Mary's Medical Center is seeking a Sterile Processing Tech I for our Sterile Processing Department. The Sterile Processing Tech I, under the direction of the Manager of SPD, Coordinator SPD or authorized designee is responsible for decontaminating, cleaning, packing sterilizing, assembling and storage of equipment, supplies and instruments according to prescribed procedures and techniques.
High School education or equivalent. Must successfully obtain Sterile Processing Department Certification (CSPDT) within two (2) calendar years of employment date.
Prior SPD and/or Surgery experience preferred, but not essential.
Understanding of instructions and underlying principles regarding the procedures and techniques of processing.
