The EEG Technician performs routine, sleep, and special electroencephalographic procedures and monitors physiological data for in/out patients. They also assist in the operating room, maintain laboratory equipment, and provide support to medical staff.
Candidates must have a High School diploma or GED and 0-1 years of related work experience. Vocational or technical training in Neurodiagnostic or Polysomnographic technology is preferred.

Essential Responsibilities: Records physiological data from the patients having routine, sleep, and special electroencephalographic (EEG) procedures. Records physiological data from in/out patients having Long Term Monitoring(Telemetry). Includes telemetry application of monitoring equipment and reset patients returning for continued monitoring. Performs intraoperative procedures in the operating room as needed. Monitors physiological data from patients having electrocorticography and WADA. Applies electrodes to patients and removes electrodes at the end of surgery. Provides effective first aid for patients for special electrophysiological patients who have convulsions or other problems. Cleans and maintains all equipment and makes minor repairs as needed. Maintains cleanliness of laboratory and storage of data. Acts as resource for residents, physicians and other technicians, providing assistance and advice as necessary. Required Qualifications: High School diploma or GED required. Vocational or Technical training in Neurodiagnostic or Polysomnographic technology preferred. 0-1 years related work experience required. Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access and other web-based applications. May produce complex documents, perform analysis and maintain databases.
One year technical healthcare experience. Successful completion of an educational program for EEG or Sleep Technologist accredited by the AMA Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation.
