The Physician Hospice is responsible for ensuring the highest quality of life for terminally ill patients by managing symptoms, providing palliative care, and overseeing admissions, certifications, and medication management within a multidisciplinary team framework. This role involves developing individualized care plans, maintaining empathetic communication with patients and families, and ensuring adherence to all regulatory and organizational standards.
Candidates must possess a Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited school, hold an unencumbered state medical license, and maintain good standing on the medical staff of at least one contracted hospital, along with current CPR certification and reliable transportation for home visits. Board certification in hospice and palliative medicine is preferred.
Responsible for ensuring the highest quality of life for patients during their final stages, focusing on comfort, dignity, and emotional support. It works closely with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, social workers, chaplains and hospice Aides, to develop and implement individualized care plans that address the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients and their families.
