Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and OB/GYN provider, the assistant performs patient care activities to support healthcare providers with various technical and clinical procedures in the patient care area. Key duties include completing patient intake, documenting information, performing authorized technical tasks like checking vital signs and collecting specimens, and assisting providers with procedures.
Candidates must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and follow instructions, possessing a high school diploma or equivalent. Certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred upon hire or required within six months, along with demonstrated competency in phlebotomy, vital signs, and electronic medical record documentation.
