The Medical Lab Technician will perform common testing procedures, report results, and conduct necessary instrument maintenance and quality control testing. Responsibilities also include collecting blood specimens, processing specimens, and maintaining a safe and organized work area.

How you’ll contribute

A Medical Lab Technician – MLT who excels in this role

· Performs common testing procedures and reports test results.

· Performs instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.

· Performs quality control testing.

· Maintains supplies needed for performance of tests.

· Labels, processes and delivers specimens for testing.

· Collects blood specimens using age-appropriate techniques.

· Assists with receiving, identifying, accessioning, processing and transporting specimens.

· Maintains work area in a safe, aseptic and organized manner.

What we’re looking for

  • Applicants should have a current Tennessee MLT (ASCP) certification or AMT license. Associates of Applied Science degree in Clinical Lab Technology or equivalent certification by a CLIA approved credentialing organization.
  • Additional requirements include:
  • Basic Life Support certification is required within 60 days of hire
