The ACC 2008 Recommendations for Training in Adult Cardiovascular Medicine Core Cardiology Training (COCATS3) (Revision of the 2002 COCATS Training Statement) published January 22, 2008 are available at www.acc.org and was used as the foundation for the privileges in Cardiology. Additional resources were used for procedures that cross specialty lines. Successful completion of a hospital affiliated Internal Medicine residency program of at least 3 years’ duration, and completion of a fellowship in Cardiology of at least 3 years’ duration accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
