The Research Associate will execute experiments involving bovine embryos and stem cells to enhance derivation techniques and perform downstream differentiations to assess cell line quality. Responsibilities also include routine cell line maintenance, cryopreservation, and accurate preparation of critical reagents for the research pipeline.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline and demonstrate extensive hands-on experience with iPSC or ESC culture along with strong sterile technique proficiency. The role requires precision in following protocols, meticulous data documentation, and the ability to manage multiple parallel experimental timelines.
Experimental Execution & Stem Cell Research Conduct experiments with bovine embryos and stem cells to improve derivation techniques and characterization workflows. Perform downstream differentiations to assess stem cell line quality, stability, and performance. Cell Line Maintenance & Culture Operations Carry out routine culture, passaging, and cryopreservation of bovine stem cell lines. Prepare essential reagents, including media, small molecules, and other cell culture components, with high accuracy and consistency. Data Management & Documentation Accurately record experimental data and maintain organized, detailed laboratory documentation. Learn and apply data analysis techniques in collaboration with senior scientists. Team Collaboration & Project Support Work closely with senior team members and actively contribute to team meetings and discussions. Support multiple ongoing projects and respond effectively to shifting priorities in a dynamic research environment. PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Cell Biology, Developmental Biology, or a related discipline. Extensive hands-on experience with iPSC or ESC culture and strong proficiency in sterile technique. Familiarity with 3D culture systems or downstream differentiation workflows is a plus, though not required. Proven ability to follow experimental protocols with precision and maintain contamination free cultures. Strong commitment to accurate data recording and thorough experimental documentation. Ability to manage multiple cell lines and coordinate parallel experimental timelines effectively. Positive, collaborative mindset with adaptability and enthusiasm for hands-on bench work. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Highly desirable experience with FACS sorting, microdissection, or micromanipulation.
