A Labor and Delivery (L&D) nurse provides specialized care to expectant mothers before, during, and immediately after childbirth, alongside caring for newborns. Key duties involve monitoring fetal heart rates, managing contractions, and assisting physicians with deliveries or C-sections.
Candidates must possess a current professional nursing license issued by the State of Pennsylvania and current CPR certification. Additional certifications like NRP, STABLE, and ACLS must be obtained within specified timeframes after orientation or hire.
