The Occupational Therapist Assistant performs occupational therapy programs under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, utilizing standard techniques appropriate for the patient's needs. Responsibilities include documenting service delivery, educating patients and caregivers, and directing support personnel activities as an integral team member.
Candidates must be a graduate of an AOTA approved occupational therapy assistant education program and have successfully completed the certification process. Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant by the Oklahoma State Board of Medical Examiners is required, along with current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
