The Medical Assistant is responsible for rooming patients, collecting vitals, and assisting surgeons with clinical procedures. They also handle administrative tasks such as scheduling, documenting patient care in EPIC, and managing referrals.
We have two job openings in General Surgery at Scripps Clinic in Torrey Pines, La Jolla.
These positions offer a consistent schedule, working Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with no weekend or evening shifts.

Your job duties: Rooming patients, checking vitals, assisting with procedures Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment Organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician’s practice Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person Collecting patient data in person and by phone Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review Administering medications specifically directed by the physician Scheduling of appointments and procedures Complete and accurate message taking Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction Order and referral entry, acquisition of pre-certifications Setting up of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographics Setting up for in-office procedures
Candidates must have completed a formal Medical Assistant program or certification, or have two years of experience as a military corpsman. BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
