A staff Registered Nurse directs and performs nursing care for assigned patients, reporting to the charge nurse, and must effectively prescribe, delegate, and coordinate this care. Essential functions include implementing patient care plans to achieve optimal patient function and documenting according to policy.
Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be a graduate of an accredited professional nursing school. Candidates must currently be licensed or eligible to practice as a Graduate Nurse in Missouri and possess current BLS certification, with ACLS and PALS preferred.
Description This position is eligible for the $20,000 sign-on bonus.
A staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional RN who directs and/or performs nursing care to patients assigned to his/her team within the scope of his/her license. The staff RN is responsible to the charge nurse on the unit to which he/she is assigned. This RN must effectively prescribe, delegate, and coordinate nursing care.
Implement patient care according to planned interventions to attain the patient’s optimal level of function and document according to policy. Demonstrate positive customer service relations. Routinely participate in QI projects and encourage department to continuously improve. Assist co-workers as needed/requested. Support the Medical Center’s Mission/Vision/Philosophy positively.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate from an accredited professional school of nursing. Currently licensed to practice as a professional Registered Nurse in the state of Missouri or be eligible to practice as a graduate nurse in the State of Missouri. Current BLS required. Current ACLS preferred. Current PALS preferred. This individual should be knowledgeable regarding growth and development and assessing the physical and psychological needs of patients in the following stages of life: Babyhood, toddler, children, adolescence, early adulthood, adulthood, middle age, and geriatrics. Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work within the established policies, procedures and practices prescribed by the hospital/clinic.
