The Certified Medical Assistant supports the health and wellness center's clinical and clerical operations by assisting providers with treatments, performing clinical duties like measuring vital signs, and handling administrative tasks such as answering phones and maintaining records. This role involves transcribing orders, documenting encounters, and ensuring the treatment rooms are prepared for patient examinations.
Candidates must possess the ability to perform blood draws confidently and hold a current BLS certification from the American Heart Association valid for at least 90 days post-start date, with experience working with pediatric patients being required. A high school diploma is mandatory, an Associate's degree is preferred, and certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred, along with knowledge of HIPAA.
JOB SUMMARY The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is at the forefront of Proactive MD’s clinical operations and is a champion of our Patient Promise: “We are only and always about the patient. We Promise to fight for their greatest good.” The mission of the CMA is to support the health and wellness center’s clinical and clerical operations. As directed by the provider and Health Center Nurse Manager, the CMA assists the provider and performs appropriate tests and procedures. The CMA is responsible for administrative tasks for the health and wellness center and may assist the Patient Advocate in employee/patient engagement and outreach.
