Our flagship Ready, Willing & Able (RWA) program provides paid transitional work experience, transitional housing, advanced occupational training, and comprehensive supportive services to individuals experiencing homelessness. The Doe Fund is also one of New York City’s largest nonprofit developers of permanent, affordable, and supportive housing, with more than 1,900 units in operation or pre-development. The organization has an annual operating budget of $80 million and a full-time staff of nearly 500, a significant portion of whom are graduates of our programs.
The Case Manager/Substance Abuse Counselor is responsible for providing supportive case management services to the HASA funded residents. The successful candidate will have strong clinical and communication skills along with an understanding of working with the HIV/AIDS population, including seniors.

You are a Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) or have a License in Clinical Social Work (LCSW).
You have at least one year of experience working with people who are homeless, living with HIV/AIDS, have substance abuse histories or suffer from mental illness.
You have at least 3 years of experience in substance abuse counseling
You are knowledgeable of the benefits in the New York City Metro area, HIV/AIDS, psychiatric diagnoses, substance abuse, and mental health issues
You possess solid computer skills – internet, Microsoft Office, and charting database
You possess strong organizational, writing, and communication skills

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or a relevant field, with at least three years of experience in substance abuse counseling. A CASAC certification or LCSW license is strongly preferred, along with at least one year of experience working with populations experiencing homelessness, HIV/AIDS, substance abuse, or mental illness.
