The Gastroenterologist will provide comprehensive medical care for patients with disorders of the GI tract, liver, pancreas, and biliary system, involving evaluation, diagnosis, management, and performance of endoscopic procedures. Key duties include developing individualized treatment plans, providing inpatient and outpatient services, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Candidates must possess an MD or DO from an accredited medical school, completion of an Internal Medicine residency, and an accredited Gastroenterology fellowship. Applicants must be board certified or eligible in Gastroenterology and eligible for an unrestricted medical license in the practicing state.
GastroenterologistPosition Summary The Gastroenterologist provides comprehensive medical care for patients with disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, liver, pancreas, and biliary system. This role includes the evaluation, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic digestive diseases, performance of endoscopic procedures, and collaboration with multidisciplinary care teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. Key Responsibilities Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with gastrointestinal, hepatic, and pancreatic disorders Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including upper endoscopy and colonoscopy Manage conditions such as GERD, inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease, gastrointestinal bleeding, and colorectal cancer screening Interpret diagnostic tests, imaging, and pathology results Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans Provide inpatient consultations and outpatient clinic services Collaborate with surgeons, oncologists, primary care providers, and ancillary services Educate patients and families regarding disease processes, treatment options, and preventive care Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in the electronic health record Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and service line initiatives Practice Setting Outpatient gastroenterology clinic with procedural endoscopy suite Hospital-based inpatient consult coverage Call coverage shared within the gastroenterology group Patient Population Adult patients with a broad range of gastrointestinal conditions Preventive, diagnostic, and longitudinal care
