About the role

Primary duties involve conducting in-person psycho-educational groups, managing a designated caseload, and documenting client progress notes and individual service/treatment plans. The role also requires completing biopsychosocial evaluations and coordinating case management needs for individuals with mental health and co-occurring disabilities.

Phoenix Behavioral Health, a quality provider in mental health and substance abuse treatment, is seeking to hire a full-time Case Manager/Group Counselor for our Mental Health Partial Care program located in Ewing, New Jersey. Primary responsibilities include conducting in person psycho-educational groups; carrying a designated caseload; documenting group, individual and family progress notes; and completing individual service/treatment plans on clients receiving services. The Case Manager will also complete biopsychosocial evaluations, perform outreach calls, and coordinate case management needs for individuals who struggle with mental health and co-occurring disabilities.

Eligible candidates must have experience working in the field of mental health/behavioral health disorders, possess strong clinical and time management skills, and embody commitment to providing quality services/support to individuals in need in the community.

Required Skills/Abilities

Ability to work as a team member and have management, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills Ability to work under stressful conditions and be flexible in relation to department needs Knowledge of Joint Commission standards within the Department Demonstrates Proficiency in Verbal and written Communication Skills Knowledge of State and Federal Statutes Regarding Patient Confidentiality Laws Knowledge of Drug Free Workplace Policies Knowledge of Workplace Violence Knowledge of current technology Knowledge of Substance Use Disorder Familiar with community resources

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred Associate's degree with two years experience will be considered. HS diploma or GED with five years experience will be considered. Experience working with individuals who have behavioral health needs (trauma, mental illness and/or substance abuse) Experience in providing case management services in the mental health or Substance Abuse community Experience providing group treatment (psychoeducational groups) Experience working on a multidisciplinary team to engage participants Knowledge of the criminal justice system and community resources Computer literate. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Requirements

Eligible candidates must have experience in the mental health or behavioral health field, possess strong clinical and time management abilities, and demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery. Required qualifications include an Associate's degree with two years of experience or a Bachelor's degree, along with familiarity with Joint Commission standards and patient confidentiality laws.
