The Clinical Licensed Crisis Counselor provides rapid, clinically sound crisis assessments, stabilization interventions, and short-term therapeutic services, including diagnosing mental disorders and developing crisis stabilization and safety plans. Key duties involve conducting comprehensive evaluations, creating treatment plans in partnership with clients, and collaborating with external agencies like law enforcement and hospitals.
Candidates must possess a Kansas license (LSCSW, LCPC, LCMFT, or LCP) from the Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board to practice independently. Additional requirements include being at least 18 years old, passing background checks, a TB Screen Test, Medical Evaluation, holding a valid driver’s license, and the ability to meet physical demands such as lifting up to 50 pounds.
The Clinically Licensed Crisis Counselor must be licensed in the State of Kansas by the Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board (BSRB) to independently diagnose and treat mental disorders. Acceptable licenses include LSCSW, LCPC, LCMFT, or LCP. Must be at least 18 years old. Pass and complete a TB Screen Test and Medical Evaluation. Pass pre-employment background checks. A valid driver’s license is required. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with hospitals, law enforcement, EMS, and internal departments. Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift and carry 25-50 pounds occasionally. Prolonged periods of standing and walking may be required. Frequently bending, stooping, or kneeling to assist clients or perform tasks. Ability to reach overhead and handle objects or equipment. Be able to get on the floor and rise without assistance.
