The role involves providing assessment, triage, and therapeutic management for patients and families within the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) as part of an interdisciplinary team, including formulating and managing treatment plans and performing procedures as appropriate. Responsibilities also include educating patients/families on care and resources, providing psychosocial support, ensuring proper documentation, and engaging in continuous professional development.
Candidates must graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program and must possess active PA Certification (NCCPA) or Connecticut State Nurse Practitioner License, along with required certifications like ACLS/BLS and a DEA License. Prior ICU experience is strongly preferred, and a 6-month orientation is provided for those without prior ICU experience.
