Job description

Thayer Internal Medicine, a long-standing primary care practice within MaineGeneral Medical Center, is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Physician to join their highly respected team. This outpatient-only practice provides comprehensive care exclusively to adults, with a strong focus on geriatrics, population health, and the management of complex medical conditions.

  • About the Opportunity This role offers the chance to practice high-quality primary care in a collaborative, patient-centered environment. Physicians in this practice enjoy:
  • A full-time schedule consisting of 32 hours of direct patient care and 8 hours of administrative time each week
  • A patient population that values long-term relationships and continuity of care
  • Opportunities to incorporate procedural skills such as minor surgery or osteopathic manipulation (optional)
  • The ability to provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid use disorder, if desired
  • Participation in call rotation with other medical staff
  • About the Practice Thayer Internal Medicine has been serving the Kennebec Valley region for more than 20 years and is located within the Thayer Center for Health in Waterville, Maine. This facility houses:
  • Primary care and specialty practices
  • Surgical services
  • On-site laboratory and imaging
  • An emergency department

Malpractice is provided, to include tail coverage to all eligible medical staff.

Requirements

Candidates must be Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine and hold a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
