Responsibilities

We’ll Help You Master
Support individuals in achieving their personal goals and fulfilling their dreams by having a “person-centered” focus
Teach independent living and daily skills to the persons-served by identifying and meeting social, environmental, and health care needs such as daily grooming and personal care routines
Actively plans, coordinates, and participates with residents in social activities including frequent community outings
Instructs, supports and participates in performing household tasks with persons served such as cleaning, preparing meals, food shopping, etc

The Ideal Candidate
Someone who will take the initiative to present new ideas for community outings and activities
Suggest new activities that could help enhance a variety of skills
Someone who is patient and punctual
Must be willing to use their personal vehicle to transport the person supported to and from their activities in the Rockville, MD & surrounding areas
Will model appropriate social norms and behaviors for the person supported to teach them how to respect boundaries

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED from an accredited educational institution
Able to communicate effectively with the individuals to whom services are provided
Should have experience working with people with intellectual disabilities or with other types of special needs populations
Have patience and positive coaching skills to assist AM with successfully reaching his goals
