The role involves performing various chemical, microscopic, immunologic, and/or microbiological tests to generate data for disease diagnosis and treatment, often focusing on specialty areas like Blood Bank or Chemistry. Responsibilities also include receiving specimens, recording results, and potentially performing additional duties to maintain workflow in the absence of a Medical Technologist.
A minimum requirement is an associate’s degree in medical technology along with ASCP certification (MLT or categorical) and at least one year of clinical laboratory experience. Candidates must also demonstrate knowledge of basic instrument theory and possess reliable transportation for required travel between multiple work sites.

Certification as an MLT from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or ASCP Categorical Certification specific for the laboratory section employed in (H, C, M, BB) is required. Must provide education transcript prior to start of employment. Must have a minimum of one (1) year clinical laboratory experience. Demonstrates efficient operation and knowledge of basic instrument theory of operation and function of components.
(Medical Technologist) A Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) certification as a Medical Technologist or ASCP Categorical Certification specific for laboratory section employed in (H, C, M, BB) or eligible required. Must provide education transcript prior to start of employment. Phlebotomy experience is preferred.
Must be knowledgeable in laboratory automation and information systems.
