This role ensures the correct assignment of medical records numbers, retrieves necessary records, and collects vital information such as birth certificates. The representative will also be responsible for sorting, filing reports, updating record deficiency information, and maintaining the microfilm area.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with one year of experience in Health Information Management or a related healthcare billing/insurance office role, though an associate's degree in HIM or Medical Billing can substitute for experience. Candidates must possess basic knowledge of Health Information Systems practices and strong communication skills, including bilingual English/Spanish proficiency.
