This role involves providing professional nursing care within an assigned unit, coordinating care planning with other disciplines, and implementing plans of care appropriate to the patient's diagnosis and needs. Responsibilities also include supervising ancillary staff like LPNs and Nursing Assistants, and ensuring adherence to safety standards.
Candidates must possess a valid Tennessee RN license and current CPR certification, with no minimum education specified beyond what is required for licensure. This position is targeted at new graduates, as progression to Level II occurs after one year of experience.

Provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit; coordinates care planning with other disciplines.
Correlates patient history and support systems across continuum of care. Completes nursing history and initiates patient education. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams making recommendations to facilitate patient care. Implements plan of care appropriate to diagnosis and patient needs. Evaluates outcomes. Problem solves and coordinates unit/patient care assignments, with supervision. Introduces new employees/students to unit routines. Demonstrates active participation in unit or facility activities. Demonstrates competence in performing critical skills to include appropriate delivery of care according to the age-specific needs of the population served. Supervises LPNs, Nursing Assistants, HUCs, Techs and sitters. Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Education: None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority. Minimum Experience: New graduate, within first (1st) year of orientation (move to level II after one (1) Year experience). Licensure Requirement: Valid Tennessee RN license required. CPR required.
