The Monitor Tech is responsible for recognizing, evaluating, and competently interpreting normal and abnormal cardiac (EKG) rhythms, providing immediate notification of any changes to the nursing staff. This role also involves performing clerical duties to assist nursing staff and acting as a communication liaison between the ICU, PCU, and patients' families.
Candidates must be able to competently interpret normal and abnormal cardiac rhythms under supervision and must pass an in-depth competency test covering cardiac rhythms. The role requires immediate notification of rhythm changes and performing supportive clerical tasks.
