The Registered Nurse provides direct, age-specific patient care and integrates technical skills to meet the needs of patients and families in the NICU. They are responsible for administering medications, documenting care, and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to ensure patient wellness.
Candidates must hold a current RN license in Virginia or a compact state and possess a diploma or Associate degree in nursing. Experience requirements range from entry-level to three years depending on the clinical level, and all nurses without a BSN must enroll in a program within two years.
