CT Technologist

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and patient-centered CT Technologist to join our imaging team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technologist who values image quality, patient safety, and collaboration in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

The CT Technologist performs high-quality computed tomography (CT) imaging procedures in accordance with physician orders and radiologist protocols. This role includes preparing and positioning patients, operating CT scanners, and ensuring accurate image acquisition while prioritizing patient safety and comfort. The technologist is proficient in radiation safety practices and the use of imaging equipment and supporting systems such as PACS and RIS, contributing directly to diagnostic accuracy and patient outcomes.

CT Technologist Detailed Responsibilities Explain procedure to patient, to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.

Position and immobilize patient in exam scanners and observe during scan for patient safety.

Monitor video display of area being scanned and adjust technique to improve quality.

Review and evaluate images for technical quality for diagnostic purposes.

Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations and to ensure safety of patients and staff.

Able to answer patient, technologist and radiologist questions.

Must be able to go beyond duties in order to do what is best for the patients and department.

Verify exams for completion in PACS and complete charting work in RIS Understands and demonstrates correct usage of necessary equipment to perform procedures.

Follows protocols requested by Radiologist.

Demonstrates appropriate use of communication tool that allows patient and technologist to communicate during examination.

Enters data such as patient history, anatomical area to be scanned, orientation specified, and position of entry into aperture into computer.

Completes forms and maintains records, logs, and reports of work performed.

Performs routine maintenance, diagnoses malfunctions, and is responsible in arranging for repairs as needed.

Must be flexible to work at multiple locations, Must be flexible to work varied shifts All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two year college or technical school

  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations MRTBE/AZDHS ARRT board certification in CT must be obtained.
  • If not certified in specialty must be obtained within 24 months.
  • CPR I.V.
  • Skills Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
