The Mental Health Navigator position is part of the Emergency Department and plays a critical role in supporting patients experiencing behavioral health needs during emergency visits.
This position plays a vital role in supporting patients in the Emergency Department by helping coordinate timely behavioral health assessments, resources, referrals, and safe discharge planning.
The Mental Health Navigator works closely with ED providers, nursing staff, and community partners to ensure patients receive the right level of support at the right time.
This role serves patients of all ages, and candidates should have strong pediatric behavioral health skills, along with the ability to remain calm, professional, and compassionate in fast-paced, high-pressure situations.
This is a full-time position working approximately 80 hours per two-week pay period.
The primary assigned shift is 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with an after-hours on-call rotation from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 a.m.
This role also includes weekend on-call coverage from Friday at 5:00 p.m. through Monday at 8:00 a.m., as well as holiday on-call responsibilities.
Candidates must possess a Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work (LISW), or Licensed Professional Counselor/Clinical Resident (LPCC), along with appropriate State of Ohio credentials and licensing. Strong skills in working with patients of all ages, especially pediatric behavioral health, are required, alongside the ability to maintain professionalism under high-pressure conditions.
