Congenital Heart Surgeon University of Virginia Department of Surgery in collaboration with Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters (CHKD) Location: Norfolk, Virginia The University of Virginia Department of Surgery, in collaboration with Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters (CHKD), seeks a board-certified Congenital Heart Surgeon with a minimum of two years of post-training experience to join a growing pediatric cardiac surgery program.
This position will be based at CHKD in Norfolk, Virginia, supporting a well-established and continuously expanding congenital cardiac surgery program through an ongoing partnership with the University of Virginia.
The collaborative program is nationally recognized and ranked by U.S.
News & World Report, performing more than 400 congenital cardiac surgeries annually.
The selected candidate will join a multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to pediatric cardiac patients.
MD or equivalent medical degree Board certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery AND Board certification in Congenital Cardiac Surgery Minimum of two years of clinical experience in congenital heart surgery Demonstrated experience with extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) Eligibility for medical licensure in Virginia
