The Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for assessing and treating patients' speech, language, and swallowing functions, developing and implementing individualized plans of care, and consulting with providers. Additional duties include educating students and the community, supervising rehab aides, and maintaining current clinical knowledge.
Required education includes successful completion of an accredited speech language pathology program resulting in a Master's degree and the Certificate of Clinical Competence (ASHA). New graduates are welcome, as experience is preferred but not required, and New York State Licensure is mandatory.
