The scribe documents any procedures that may be performed by the physician or ophthalmic medical personnel. The scribe accompanies the physician into the exam room to transcribe the history and examination as given by the patient and the physician. Triages patients appropriately based on appointment time and acuity of problem prepares patient for doctor and maintains smooth, efficient flow throughout clinic Take dictation and document medicals while physician is examining patient Write out necessary prescriptions Administer drops and give injections under physician supervision When help is needed at front desk, answer phones and make appointments Triages patients appropriately based on appointment time and acuity of problem prepares patient for doctor and maintains smooth, efficient flow throughout clinic
