The Nurse Practitioner practices autonomously and collaboratively to manage patient health problems, serving as a researcher, consultant, and patient advocate across various settings. Responsibilities include performing comprehensive assessments, diagnosing, managing illness, and developing plans of care using written protocols.
A minimum requirement is a Master's or Doctoral level education as a Nurse Practitioner, along with current Nurse Practitioner certification and eligibility for prescription privileges. Computer literacy is also listed as a minimum required skill.
Practices autonomously and in collaboration with other health care professionals to treat and manage patient's health problems and serve in various settings as researchers, consultants, and patient advocates for individuals, families, groups, and communities. Performs comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, and manages illness and disease. Performs other duties as assigned.
