The Cardiac Sonographer I performs clinical M-Mode, 2-D, CFM, and Doppler echocardiograms under supervision, while also orienting to stress, 3D, and strain echocardiography as applicable. This role involves recognizing basic cardiac pathology, participating in on-call duties, and completing necessary documentation for efficient department operation.
Candidates must have a High School Equivalent/GED and be a graduate of an approved Cardiac Sonography Program or a Sonography Program with cross-training in echocardiography, along with basic computer and communication skills. Certification as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or RCS is required within one or two years, depending on the educational path, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
