The role involves providing direct patient care to behavioral health patients by completing admitting and shift assessments, utilizing critical thinking to analyze data, and participating in the development and evaluation of multidisciplinary treatment plans. Nurses must document all care, accurately implement physician orders, monitor patient and unit safety, and serve as a clinical resource while educating patients and families.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited school of nursing or have an education equivalency for licensing, with no prior experience explicitly required. Essential requirements include holding a Registered Nurse license in Missouri or a Compact State, and maintaining Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the AHA.
