The Physician provides medical services under the Medical Director, focusing on the general care and treatment of patients by diagnosing and treating illnesses and instructing patients in proper care. Essential duties include evaluating acute and chronic complaints, performing exams, ordering tests, managing medications, and ensuring care aligns with medical best practices and organizational policies.
Under direction of the Medical Director, provides medical services in the general care and treatment of patients in the health center; diagnoses and treats illnesses or diseases of the patients and instructs patients in their proper care. He/she utilizes professional skills in providing diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic health problems along with preventive care focused on health risk factor reduction. The Physician provides care consistent with medical best practices and the policies and procedures of the organization.
1. Board certified/eligible in a primary care specialty. 2. Licensed to practice medicine in the state of Georgia. 3. Prior work experience in administrative role and community/public health setting.
Lifting, bending, reaching pushing and standing and/or walking for more than (4) hours per day. Vision and hearing corrected to normal range.
Exposure to infectious diseases and blood borne pathogens; close contact with sick patients. Work environment involves exposure that will include the use of protective equipment for infection control measures.
Typical office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, multi-line phone system.
Must deal with irate patients on occasion; must be able to work under conditions of constant interruption and be able to stay on task.
