The Advanced Practice Nurse will provide comprehensive healthcare to eligible beneficiaries in an ambulatory setting, including treatment for acute and chronic illnesses, preventative health measures, and health education. Responsibilities also include analyzing lab results, prescribing and dispensing controlled medications, and maintaining complete electronic medical records for each patient.
Applicants must possess a graduate or higher level degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program and hold a current, active, full, and unrestricted license as a professional nurse in the specialty of Family Practice Nurse Practitioner. Qualification also requires one or more full years of professional nursing experience that includes conducting physical examinations, prescribing medications, and interpreting laboratory or diagnostic test results, with no substitution of education permitted for this experience.

Major Duties: Provide comprehensive health care to eligible beneficiaries in an ambulatory setting in association with staff physicians and other medical staff. Provide care and treatment of acute illness or injury, chronic illness, preventative health measures, health Maintenace, and health education service. Provide follow-up care to patients to ascertain the patient's compliance with recommendations for therapy and response to treatment. Analyze and interpret routine laboratory results. Prescribe and dispense controlled medications. Maintain a complete electronic medical record for each patient by recording subjective and objective findings for each visit and ensure that an assessment plan and plan are formulated and documented for each visit. Performs other duties as assigned.
