The student works under the supervision of a registered Radiologic Technologist, operating radiology equipment, verifying patient identity, and assisting with patient history collection and procedure explanations. Responsibilities also include acquiring appropriate images, reviewing them, documenting exceptions, and ensuring exam rooms are stocked.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be completing one year of training in an accredited Radiologic Technology school, or 9 months at a Detroit Medical Center school. Required training includes obtaining American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification by the end of orientation.
